I’ve used the Motorola Droid on several occasions, and I must admit that it is a pretty strong competitor to the Apple iPhone. However, after reading my pros and cons list, you will see why I would choose the iPhone over the Droid any day.
PROS (for Droid)
-Physical slide-out keyboard
-Multitasking capable (run multiple applications at once)
CONS (for Droid)
-Physical keyboard is difficult to type on
-Internet browser is far inferior to the one found on an iPhone
-Though the phone has 16 GB of memory, only a preset, small fraction of that can be used to store apps
-Much smaller catalog off apps available for download compared to 100,000+ you can get on iPhone
The verdict: If you are stuck on Verizon, then I would go with the Droid, but otherwise I would pick AT&T and get an iPhone.

i wanted to mention that the slide out keyboard is only avail on the more expensive one.
my mom just got that one and now she kind of wishes that she would have gotten the droid eris (the cheaper one w/o the full qwerty) bc the physical qwerty is not that great – the keys are pretty small and they are not spaced out at all. she mostly just uses the virtual qwerty. but then at the same time im pretty sure the eris has less memory…not that that really matters bc u can add more. there may be other differences as well…i don’t really know that much about the eris.
the browser is pretty good and the different apps are pretty cool (although the iphone does have more as of now).
my mom created a gmail account bc the guy at vzw said it would be much easier to use esp. w/ the calendar feature. here is the small flaw to this though: when you look at the gmail calendar online there is also a to-list section – but it doesn’t show up on the droid. we asked a girl at verizon about this and she said that they haven’t been able to figure that out yet. so, i would say that the few flaws there are, will be resolved soon as more people really figure out the phone.
i love the fact that you can create your own ringtones (or use others that ppl have made on that app) i really wish all vzw phones could do that! lol
she has had the phone for about 2 (going on 3 i think) weeks and there has already been an upgrade. it featured a different lock and a google search bar on the home screen.
i just got a choco touch and am now considering taking it back and getting the driod eris…mainly bc of the html browser.
i have only played around on her phone a little bit…and honestly some of it is frustrating bc there is so much on it. but there are a lot of pluses and i really like it…i would probably give it 4/5 stars right now bc of the things that vzw hasn’t figured out yet – but overall i would say it is a good phone.
as for your question (“does it have any flaws”): well, yeah – but nothing too major. but honestly doesn’t every phone have some flaws?
hope this helps a little! :]
